Houston's Restaurant: Experience Classy New American Cuisine in Scottsdale

This is an exceptional restaurant and great team! We eat here multiple times a month and enjoy the consistency. We have had almost every item from fish to steak and the glorious BBQ ribs! My wife loves the apple walnut cobbler dessert

Omg… this place was so good. Four of us went and ordered a bunch of dishes and shared everything family-style. We didn’t try the whole menu, but everything we did order was a total win—no misses. The service deserves special mention. Our waitress from New Mexico was absolutely outstanding. Hands down one of the best servers I’ve ever had anywhere. Fast, friendly, sharp, and always there at the perfect time without hovering. Just top-tier service. Food came out quickly, everything was well-timed, and the whole experience felt smooth and effortless. You can tell this place is dialed in. If you’re in Scottsdale and don’t stop at Houston’s, you’re doing it wrong. We’ll definitely be back.

It reminds me of a Chicago steakhouse. But it’s very lively and busy! A great time. Spinach artichoke dip was great. Husband got the burger, he loved it. I got the chicken and sausage and it was really good! The coleslaw has a honey mustard type taste, it was good. Our friends also got the ribs- which he said are the best. And the red fish dish, a milder taste to salmon.

Sour smell could not place where it was coming from. Restaurant should have smelled like food. We inquired about it and were told it was the ladies next to us with perfume on so it should dissipate. I’m not sure it ever did. Presentation of chips and salsa with guacamole was very messy almost looked like they just plopped the guacamole on the plate so it looked like maybe someone had accidentally put a finger in it before serving it to us. I ordered the filet which if ordered medium-well has to be butterflied as indicated by Sara, our server. It was delicious was equivalent to Birkins in Tampa and presentation was better. I ordered the red cabbage with goat cheese which was absolutely delicious and very unique in the way it was prepared. They simmer in brown sugar and vinegar. I would definitely recommend it if you like cabbage. My husband ordered the French Dip it was also a pleasant presentation, the bread was fresh, light and crispy. My son ordered the ribs and I have to say these were my favorite. They had a perfectly Smokey barbecue taste and were accompanied by a coleslaw. My family and I are accustomed to traveling and have met all walks of life. If you are a more down to earth kind of person, while the food is great the people here are very “hoity-toity”! If you can look past that, then it’s worth the food, but everyone in this place had an air of “I’m a movie star” lol!!! Who knows, maybe they were although I didn’t recognize them. lol Bathrooms were clean and tidy. I would recommend this place for the food.

Houston’s serves up some reliably solid food. For a chain, it’s actually pretty good, and the ambiance has that comfortable, slightly-upscale neighborhood vibe—perfect for when you just want a good burger and fries without the fuss. We ordered the artichoke hearts, the fried chicken sandwich, and the ahi steak. The ahi came out perfectly rare, which was on point and honestly a pleasant surprise. We hadn’t been here in nearly two decades, but a friend kept raving about their key lime pie, so of course we had to try it. It was… fine. Nothing life-changing. Service is exactly what you’d expect from a well-run spot like this—waters topped off regularly, servers checking in without hovering. Overall, a solid 4 out of 5 stars.

We tried this place recently for dinner and had a great experience. The dimly lit dining room sets a nice, romantic ambiance. Our party of three sat comfortably at our table. We started with the chilled jumbo shrimp and French fries up front that came with 2 dipping sauces. My wife enjoyed her filet that came with broccoli and potatoes colcannon. I tried the Hawaiian ribeye and it came with a baked potato. The ribeye had great flavor and cooked perfectly. They don’t have a kids menu which may not be the vibe they are going for, but my daughter loved the shrimp, so we made it work.

Omg I celebrated my birthday here and it am glad I did. I tried the Hawaiian prime ribeye steak and it over exceeded my expectations. It was so tender and juicy. I also tried the cabbage and it was different than any other cabbage I tried. The service there is amazing. My guy had the pork ribs, fries and coleslaw and he's hard ro please. He loved it all. The meat was falling of the bones to say the least. Our waiter Sushant was the most friendliest and personable person any person could ask for on her birthday! He made it special, fun, and exciting! We truly appreciated his service, the food, ambiance from start to finish. Looking forward to our next experience.

We enjoyed Christmas Eve at Houstons and thoroughly loved all the food and service. The side dishes were as delicious as the main dishes...and the appetizer was great. Thanks for making our evening.
